Our work to ensure that all children in California have access to the solutions and interventions they need to reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and toxic stress took a major step forward today. The California Senate today passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 155 with a 34-0 vote!

The Center for Youth Wellness is thrilled to announce that, on Monday, the California Assembly passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 155 (ACR 155) with strong bipartisan support. Authored by Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra (D-39), ACR 155 urges the Governor to identify solutions to address the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences and toxic stress. It was adopted with 67 assembly members joining as coauthors to the resolution.

“Far too often, the impact of trauma in our children’s lives goes unnoticed and unaddressed,” said Asm. Bocanegra. “ACR 155 emphasizes our commitment to ensuring that all kids have a chance to thrive. It is more effective and less costly to positively influence the architecture of a child's developing brain than to attempt to correct poor learning, health and behavior later on.”
